Museum in Leopold Christoph von Schallenberg's castle, with a frescoed church depicting Masonic symbolism.
The baroque castle of Leopold Christoph von Schallenberg had an eventful history. It had many owners and was occupied by Russian troops. In the 1970s, the municipality of Zwettl decided to restore it. Its museum provides an opportunity to learn about Masonic symbolism. This 18th century Masonic lodge is unique in Europe. In the parish church, you can admire the fresco of the dome attributed to Paul Troger.
