IBMER MOOR
Ibmer moorland on the border between Innviertel and Salzburg, Austria's largest moorland complex with peat bogs.
A remarkable, protected wetland. The Ibmer wetlands on the border of the Innviertel and Salzburg form Austria's largest wetland complex. This exceptional natural landscape, formed over 12,000 years ago, is home to valuable peat bogs and extends over 2,000 hectares. A 4 km educational trail introduces visitors to this ecosystem and its flora and fauna. A little further on, another attractive natural paradise: the Untere Inn, with its bright green meadows, a haven for nesting birds.
