DACHSTEIN CAVES (DACHSTEINHÖHLEN)
The caves can be reached from Hallstatt via Obertraun, then a signposted lakeside path to Eishöhle and Mammuthöhle.
On the border between Upper Austria, Styria and Salzburg, the Dachstein massif attracts climbers, skiers and tourists who come for the view and the natural sights, such as the caves discovered at the beginning of the century. It can be reached from Hallstatt via Obertraun and then along a signposted path along the lake. There is also a cable car to the platform from which the path leads to the Eishöhle and the Mammothöhle.
