RESIDENZ ZU SALZBURG (RESIDENCE IN SALZBURG)
Residence with a gallery showcasing European painting from the to the century.
Since 1120, the Residence has been the seat of the prince-archbishops of Salzburg. The Baroque style we admire today dates from the late 16th century. Of the 180 rooms, only a few are open to the public. There are two areas to visit in the Residence: the ceremonial rooms, comprising the former performance halls and private apartments of the prince-archbishops, and the gallery, which showcases European painting from the 16th to the 19thcentury .
