These impressive gorges were carved out of the Saalachtal valley by erosion.
If you are staying in Lofer or passing through during the summer months, the impressive Seisenberg Gorge (Seisenbergklamm) is a must-see. They were carved out of the Saalachtal valley by erosion. In 1831, loggers built a bridge across the narrow gorge. Today, this natural monument in Weissbach bei Lofer is a popular excursion. The site is unique and has the special feature of keeping cool even in the heat of the day. Children love to wander through the gorge.
