The town hall features a beautiful facade with frescoes.
The present town hall is a fine example of the former residence of the Stöckl family (built by Hans and Jörg Stöckl), operators of the Schwaz mines, and of the former prosperity of the area. After the bankruptcy of its owners, the hotel became the property of the princely mining department and then the town hall in 1970. Beautiful facade decorated with 18th century frescoes. Not to be missed if you pass through Schwaz. Do not hesitate to enter if you are lucky enough that the building is open that day. It is the largest non-religious building of the mining period.
