BERNECK CASTLE (BURG BERNECK)
A large castle built on a 130-metre-high cliff overlooking the valley and the Faggenbach river.
A large castle first mentioned in 1225. Its strategic construction on a 130 m high cliff provides a view over the valley and the Faggenbach river. The castle passed through many hands over the centuries and was gradually deteriorating. In the 1970s, the Innsbruck architect Ekkehard Hörmann and his wife bought the castle and renovated it in a state of the art manner. The St. Bartholomew's Chapel has old gothic frescoes.
