RUINS OF EHRENBERG CASTLE
These monumental ruins of the former border fortress are located at an altitude of 1,100 m.
At an altitude of 1,100 m, the monumental ruins of the former border fortress, dating back to 1290, are just as impressive as those of the defensive Hinterhaus fortress in Spitz an der Donau. This castle was built by order of Count Meinhard II von Görz-Tirol. Enlarged in 1600, it was the largest castle in Tyrol. Numerous medieval facilities and attractions around the castle: suspension bridge, funicular railway, children's playground, hotel and restaurant.
