SAINT-ANDRÉ'S PARISH CHURCH
Church with interesting features, including an altar by Johann Zoller, sculptures by Patterer and frescoes by Josef Mölk.
The parish church of Lienz is the oldest religious building in the city, built on the site of an ancient Roman holy site. The three-aisled Gothic basilica was built by the Counts of Görz in the 15th century. The bell tower was damaged by lightning and rebuilt in the Baroque period. Interesting features of the church include an altar by Johann Zoller, sculptures by Patterer, frescoes by Josef Mölk from 1761, a 15th century pietà and the organ case from 1618.
