ISEL TOWER (ISELTURM)
The Isel Tower is one of the last vestiges of the medieval fortifications dating back to 1311.
It is located on the banks of the Isel near the Neuer Platz. It is one of the last remains of the medieval fortifications, which date back to 1311. The tower has been restored and embellished with a fresco by Toni Fronthaler. Some relatively well-preserved parts can be found along the Iselkais, at the Spitalkirche (city tower at the northeast corner), at Kreuzgasse and at Zwergerasse and Mühlgasse. A beautiful stone tower covered with greenery in summer. Guided tours are possible, information at the tourist office.
