BRUCK CASTLE (SCHLOSS BRUCK)
This castle, dating from the first half of the century, houses a rich museum.
Dating from the first half of the 13th century, it was the former residence of the Counts of Görz, who occupied it until the dynasty died out in the early 16th century. It then fell into the hands of the Counts of Wolkenstein and remained the seat of the Lienz lordship until 1783. In 1796, it was transformed into a military hospital and then into barracks, before being sold to a private individual in 1827. It was bought by the municipality, restored and fitted out in 1943. It houses a rich museum.
