STADTPFARRKIRCHE SANKT-GALLUS
Religious building featuring a Baroque gable from 1672, stuccowork by Abraham Bader and rich furnishings including choir stalls
The church was first mentioned at the end of the 11th century, but it has undergone many alterations and its main elements date from the 14th century. With a single nave, St. Gallen has a Baroque gable from 1672, stucco work by Abraham Bader, and rich furnishings including choir stalls from Mehrerau Abbey and an altarpiece from the mid-18th century. One of the shepherdesses depicted in the altarpiece is said to be a portrait of the Empress Maria Theresa, the donor. Superb organ case.
