CATHEDRAL (DOMKIRCHE SANKT-NIKOLAUS)
Religious building featuring a magnificent pietà (1521) by master builder Wolf Huber and stained glass windows by Martin Häusle.
The church was first mentioned in 1287. Altered several times, it is the largest Gothic building in Vorarlberg and houses a magnificent pietà (1521) by Feldkirch master Wolf Huber, and stained glass windows by Martin Häusle. The wrought-iron tabernacle is one of the most remarkable in the country.
Near the cathedral stands the prefecture building, which in the 17th century was home to a Jesuit community, and near the railway station is a former Capuchin monastery.
