CASTLE SCHATTENBURG (SCHLOSS SCHATTENBURG)
Castle housing a museum with an impressive collection of weapons, locks, coins and medals
The powerful castle of the Counts of Montfort dominates the medieval city. Built in 1190, it was the main residence of the counts for two centuries. From the 15th century onwards, during the reign of the Habsburgs, it was transformed and then passed to the bailiff Hans von Königsegg. Until 1773 it was the residence of the bailiffs and today it is a municipal building with an impressive collection of weapons, locks, coins and medals. Restaurant. Animations.
