REGIONAL PARLIAMENT (LANDHAUS)
Building on the site of a former castle housing provincial government offices, the Grosser Wappensaal and coats of arms to see.
Built from 1574 to 1590 by Von Freyman on the site of a former castle, the building was an arsenal and later the seat of the Carinthian provincial government. Today it houses the offices of the provincial government. Beautiful courtyard with two-storey arcades and stair towers with domed roofs. The Grosser Wappensaal (Hall of Arms) is decorated with 665 trompe l'oeil coats of arms of the Carinthian provincial states, governors and canons, painted in 1739 by Joseph Ferdinand Fromiller.
