HOUSE OF THE GOLDEN GOOSE (HAUS DER GOLDENEN GANS)
House built in 1489 to welcome the emperor, with a courtyard decorated with arcades and bas-reliefs, the Franck gallery, another gallery
It is probably the oldest building in Klagenfurt. The house was built in 1489 to accommodate the emperor, who had donated his fortress to the city. The courtyard is decorated with arcades and a bas-relief from the 16th century. The Franck Gallery connects the house with the Landhaushof and runs through beautiful courtyards. Another gallery, linking the Pfarrplatz to the Alter Platz, allows one to admire the bell tower of the parish church of St. Egidio, built on the site of a 13th-century basilica.
