Museum with a Baroque chapel, exhibiting a permanent collection of Carinthian art from the century to the present day.
The MMKK opened in 2003. The building, dating back to 1586, formerly housed a Protestant school. In the baroque chapel, Josef Ferdinand Fromiller's fresco is remarkably well preserved (currently closed to the public). The museum presents a permanent collection of Carinthian art from the 19thcentury to the present day, including works by Markus Pernhart, Anton Kolig, Franz Wiegele, Herbert Boeckl, Maria Lassnig and Richard Tuttle. A major exhibition dedicated to Jean Egger in 2022 and 2023.
