At the south end of the Stadtpark, this building - the late th century - was realized by two renowned artists, Helmer and Hellmer, the Charpini and Brancato of Imperial Architecture. A contemporary steel sculpture, the Lichtswert ("the Sword of Light"), vient the seriousness of the upper friezes of the building. Today it is the symbol of city cosmopolitanism.
