CASTLE HERBERSTEIN (SCHLOSS HERBERSTEIN)

The main attraction of the town is Herberstein Castle, the former fief of the Herberstein lords who ruled the region for seven centuries. The knights' hall with its large fireplace, the beautiful gallery of arms, saddles and trophies, the collections of earthenware and porcelain from the 17th and 18th centuries evoke the long history of this castle, which retains the successive imprints of the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. The park is home to a wildlife park.
