With its 19 communities, 13 of which are part of the Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park, this region offers a varied landscape of orchards, vineyards, dry meadows, ponds and forests. The majestic Forchtenstein fortress, the region's best-known attraction, greets visitors as soon as they arrive. Some communes are also home to the Rosalia DAC winegrowers, who produce rosé wines of exceptional quality. Other towns to visit include Antau, with its historic monuments such as chapels and mills. Bad Sauerbrunn, meanwhile, is a former health resort that attracted Viennese, Budapest and Sopronese visitors in the 19th century.
