Set in a beautiful colonial house in the heart of the city, the French Alliance is the Rendez-vous for all Francophones. You can read the French press and magazines, consult the books and comics of the library and get the map of São Vicente and the map of Santo Antão (1 800 CVE). A small, welcoming terrace is available from your entrance. The small restaurant La Pergola serves a few dishes from day to day. It is also a pleasant place to drink a small coffee in the shade of a tree in bouquinant. The atmosphere is warm, you can discover interesting cultural programming, cinema clubs, photos, concert and seminar.

Lorsqu’on se risque à poser la moindre petite question à la dame dont le bureau donne dans la salle de restauration, celle-ci s’empresse de vous renvoyer vertement à l’Office cap-verdien du Tourisme tout en ajoutant de façon laconique et méprisante : « Nous, on est là uniquement pour les équivalences de diplômes ».
Les mauvaises habitudes ont la vie dure sous les Tropiques et au milieu de l’océan.
Heureusement qu’il y a le sourire et l’hospitalité des Cap-Verdiens et les paysages de leur magnifique archipel.
