Museum exhibiting antiques dating from the colonial period, testimonies of the daily life on the island of Fogo.

Located on the old Rua Judice Bicker, this old sobrado restored in 2008 houses a museum and is worth a visit. This two-storey house belonged to Nhô Francisquinho, the last morgado of the island of Fogo, a customs officer. It was built approximately between 1880 and 1900. Antiques dating from the colonial period are exhibited there, one can discover an old record player, a radio, photos... testimonies of the daily life on the island.

Petit musée sur Fogo
Un petit musée municipal (entrée 100 escudos) intéressant si vous lisez les panneaux explicatifs mais pauvre en objets présentés. Intéressant aussi pour la visite du bâtiment lui-même.

You will find some memories of the colonial era, a lot of information about Cape Verde (unfortunately only in Portuguese for the moment) and… And a documentary about Fogo's last eruption (not to miss).
