South of Avenida 24 de Julho, Piri-Piri is a local institution. However, this small restaurant is not renowned for its rather basic decor: pale white neon lights, red tablecloths that stand out against a grey tiled floor... People come here only for its excellent chicken grilled with... piri-piri. If you don't like chilli, ask for "sem piri-piri" or opt for the succulent shrimp curry. Service all day long, until late at night, fast and not too expensive. A crucial haunt in the upper town, busy at all hours.
