The only luxury hotel in Maputo to be located directly on the beach, the Southern Sun is a true vacation resort of the South African hotel chain. A seaside haven in the middle of the city, in a quiet setting. All the rooms offer a luxurious space in a retro chic atmosphere and Victorian inspired furniture. The whole is very pleasant. The bar-restaurant faces the sea, where you can enjoy seafood, sunsets and jazzy Sundays at Evolve. The centerpiece is the pool with its palm trees and green lawn in front of the beach.

Visited in november 2023
Room a bit grotty (soiled carpet and stained chairs). Food v. poor (COVID19 situation not helping here). Lovely location and general aspect. Certainly not good value for money at the moment. This was always my favourite hotel in Maputo.

Sorry to hear that you were not happy with the Room and food, I can say to date all has changed and can still be your favorite hotel in Maputo.
