Named after the Portuguese theatre-maker, Gil Vicente is an institution of the evenings in Maputo. On Samora Machel, through the bar door, music is king. We go there to have a drink, for the price of the drink, but above all for the quality of the bands and the musical programming. The stage is on the ground floor, and most of the time it's dancing! For peace of mind, opt for the floor. The groups usually start performing on Thursday evenings. Some evenings it's karaoke, the bar is then often full to overflowing.

Staff is nice
Open stage or groups of programmed jazz WE in general.
Groups reggae buildings occur regularly.
Concerts are organised in semaien.
DS the same kind, try Free Mafalala, less programme but room a little bigger.
