The central market is nestled in an old colonial building built in the early 20th century. In 1950, there was talk of removing it, as it was not considered to have any architectural value, but it has survived. It is above all a good place to find fresh and cheap products. You can also buy the best cashew nuts, roasted and salted, in piri-piri or not, in 500g or 1kg bags. Around the place, on the sidewalks, you can find flip-flops, patched shoes, clothes, kitchen utensils, etc.
