Many South Africans discovered Santa Maria and made it a resort. Others have invested in tourism, as here at Nhonguane Lodge. For rent, six houses and three safari tents for 2 to 4 persons (with a collective kitchen), all in a luxuriant setting, some of them directly overlooking the ocean. Based on the same principle as a vacation rental in Europe, the self-catering houses (typically "sudaf") are fully equipped. You have to think about shopping for the barbecue. Some houses have a small private pool.
