First, the property is STUNNING and impeccably maintained. Everything about the design feels intentional and well appointed - from the common areas to the suites. Seriously this place is gorgeous.
The service is world class and their attention to detail is honestly mind blowing. Examples:
- Every morning they leave a coffee box right outside your door with a thermos of hot coffee, milk, sugar and little biscuits so you can enjoy it at your leisure.
- There are no "set" meal times for all guests, you get to decide what time you'd like to dine.
- They're intentional about sustainability. All guests get a glass water bottle to use during the stay/take home which I thought was such a thoughtful touch.
-All guests get a private host to look after you. Abel took care of us during our stay and he was wonderful. He took note of our drink orders on the first day and for all the subsequent days it was like magic - he was always ready with our favorite beverage at just the right times. This is going to sound silly, but he also carved little designs in our butter dish everyday that were so cute and thoughtful. He was so observant and picked up on all our preferences and habits and catered to us as if we were royalty.
- Albertina took care of our room/laundry and was outstanding.
- Cristiano down at the beach area not only helped us with our lounge set ups and ocean kayaks, he also noticed us watching the fishermen and women pull in their net and went out of his way to ask the boat captain if he could bring us over to see the process up close & personal.
- Samuel our driver was fantastic. He taught us so much about Mozambique & the town, he showed us the local market, took care of making sure we were in the right places at the right times.
And last, but certainly not least, Samantha was outstanding. She and her husband Mike do an incredible job managing this place and it shows. She kicked off our stay with a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our honeymoon and surprised us on our last night with a beautiful picture frame with one of our wedding photos.
I could go on and on. The experience is completely bespoke! If you're looking for a boutique, luxury experience, look no further. We hope to return one day!
I was dreadfully wrong.
Having been to the real Santorini, there are many aspects that make this destination just as good, if not better.
5 nights was simply not enough.
A fantastic ending to a fantastic trip.
