MUSEUM OF ETHNOGRAPHY
The building has a large pink facade reminiscent of the Soviet style. On the 2nd floor, things are better presented and better lit, with beautiful objects and quite impressive sculptures. The museum is well worth a look. Behind the building there is a small Makonde handicraft gallery which exhibits and sells objects, but also the "casa velha" which organizes small shows from time to time. The young artists and craftsmen meet there during the day, sometimes the skins of the percussion instruments are heated and rehearsed.
