HÔTEL TORBRÄU * * * *
Hotel with 90 original, quiet, air-conditioned rooms and a very good restaurant, cafeteria and breakfast bar.
The history of the Torbräu begins in 1490, even before Christopher Columbus discovered the New World: Heinrich Heine, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Franz Liszt were all captivated by its atmosphere. The hotel has 90 rooms with original decoration, very quiet and air-conditioned. The prices are high, but tradition has a price. The hotel has a very good restaurant called Shapeau, the very elegant Klimt Bar and a cafeteria serving delicious cakes. The breakfast is excellent.

It’s very quiet, and bed is comfy.
The hotel is slightly old. Not much facilities. It’s not exactly run down but just old design. I find it charming.
Some quirks - old fashion is good in some instances. The shower was the old fashioned surround type and it was tight. However, the bath was old fashionably large - enjoyed it.
Breakfast was decent with some hot and some cold. Coffee was good; soy latte available (many places still don’t offer it).
All in all, it was very pleasant and highly recommended.
