The long Museum Night involves more than 70 institutions in Munich and attracts more than 23,000 visitors in a single evening.
More than 70 museums, collections, galleries, churches, city tours and art projects open their doors to night owls for one evening in mid-October. The Long Night of the Museums - an event that originated in Berlin in the 1990s and is now found in many major cities - offers visitors the chance to discover institutions in a new light. A similar concept also exists in Nuremberg under the name "Blaue Nacht"(Blue Night).
