ASAMKIRCHE
The Asamkirche is named after the two brothers who built it. A masterpiece of South German Rococo.
The Asam brothers, Egid Quirin and Cosmas Damian, German artists, built this magnificent rococo church between 1733 and 1746. It is almost unnoticeable in the middle of Sendlingerstraße. When you enter it, you cannot remain indifferent to this overload and this debauchery of gilding and volutes. Everything symbolizes pomp and wealth with gold, marble, stucco and numerous decorations. The two brothers were able to give free rein to their desires in the decoration, since they were not responding to an order.
