ALTES RATHAUS MÜNCHEN
This is the former town hall of Munich, before the transfer of the city administration to the Neues Rathaus built next door.
Munich's former town hall was largely destroyed during the Second World War, and has undergone extensive reconstruction and modification over the centuries. First renovated in neo-Gothic style by the architect Arnold Zenetti between 1861 and 1864, it was badly damaged during the Second World War and was rebuilt identically, with the spire being rebuilt between 1971 and 1974. Since 1874, the city's administration has been housed in the Neues Rathaus. Since 1983, the Spielzeugmuseum has been housed in its tower.
