MAXIMILIANEUM
The Maximilianeum is the seat of the Bavarian Landtag, its parliamentary assembly.
The Maximilianeum sits majestically on its platform, looking like a palace. The building is particularly majestic when viewed from the bridge over the Isar, or when glimpsed in the distance from Maximilianstraße. This is where - since 1949 - the Landtag, Bavaria's parliament, sits. The plenary hall has been completely renovated, and now boasts an ultra-contemporary look that contrasts with the neo-Gothic facade on the west side. The Maximilianeum is still under construction.
