SCHLOSS BLUTENBURG
Blutenburg Castle is a fortified ducal castle from the 15th century.
Just 5 km from Nymphenburg Castle, a change of location and a change of style! Blutenburg Castle (late Gothic period) was built between 1431 and 1440 along the Würm River during the reign of Albert III of Bavaria. Originally a hunting castle, it became the residence of Duke Sigismund, son of Albert III, who lived and ruled here. In the 18th century, the castle was acquired by Elector Max-Emmanuel. Today, it also houses the Internationale Jugendbibliothek (International Youth Library) and the Michael-Ende-Museum.
