The Marstallmuseum presents two collections: about forty princely carriages and a thousand porcelain objects.

Located in the south wing of Nymphenburg Palace, the former royal stables built under Prince Elector Charles Albert now house Munich's carriage museum. The collection features a collection of finely crafted carriages used by the princely, ducal and royal families of Bavaria. Completely renovated in 1986, the museum's layout has been improved to make it easier to visit. The magnificence of the various carriages on display, all remarkably well preserved, is a source of great satisfaction. Some date back to the 18th century, such as the one used for the coronation of Emperor Charles VII (the Charles-Albert mentioned above). Also worth seeing: Louis II's nymphs' sleigh. When you see such beautiful ceremonial cars, you realize that the Bavarians' love of the automobile began long before motorization!

Nymphenburg Palace houses the world's only collection of Nymphenburg porcelain. The porcelain museum (Museum Nymphenburger Porzellan) is located on the top floor of the Marstallmuseum (carriage museum). Here, visitors can admire over 1,000 objects from the Nymphenburg porcelain factory. Porcelain is still produced here today, not far from the Nymphenburg Museum. The museum is particularly proud of its Commedia dell'arte rococo figures created by the master Franz Anton Bustelli, and its selection of Art Nouveau porcelain in innovative shapes and designs.
