LUDWIGSTRASSE
The most beautiful street in Partenkirchen, where chalets with beautiful painted facades line up. It is the main street of the district.
You have to stroll along with your nose in the air to not miss anything on the walk. Since Roman times and the construction of the Via Claudia, this street has been at the heart of the economic life of the region, the Werdenfelser Land. Each house has its own history, for example, the Altes Haus at number 8 is the only surviving remnant from the medieval period. The district was destroyed by fire in 1811 and 1865. The Pfarrkirche, built in 1871 in the neo-Gothic style, is famous for its work by Bartolomeo Letterini, in which the Virgin Mary ascends to heaven.
