The Richard Strauss Institute is dedicated to the life and work of the famous composer who also lived in Garmisch.
The famous composer Richard Strauss, born in Munich, lived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and is buried there. He did not live in this house but in another villa in Garmisch, which is still privately owned. At the Richard Strauss Institute you can learn everything about his life, his work or listen to music. The institute also has its own concert hall. So if you are a music lover, check out the program online! Since 2018, there is even a festival entirely dedicated to this great Bavarian composer!
