The Königssee is without a doubt one of the most spectacular lakes in Germany. All the elements of a postcard are there to create an enchanting setting: emerald green water, a belt of mountains (with the Watzmann peak in the distance), a baroque bulbous church (Kirche St. Bartholomä) and even a waterfall! The escarpment prevents hikers from going around it and you will have to take a boat to explore the lake. You will not be alone on the boat, the Königssee is a major tourist attraction in the region.
