A playground and discovery area in the heart of the mountain, on the site of a salt mine. The foundation of the Berchtesgaden salt mine in 1517 marked the beginning of a history of over 500 years of uninterrupted salt mining. You can take the mine train down into the depths to see the salt cathedral. Afterwards, the more courageous will slide down the toboggans to the Spiegelsee, literally plunging into the depths of the Alps.
