BEG - RÉSEAU RÉGIONAL
The city of Ingolstadt in Bavaria has a regional rail network managed by the Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG). BEG is responsible for planning, financing and controlling regional rail transport in Bavaria, acting on behalf of the Free State. Regional and commuter train operators generate around half of their operating costs from ticket sales, while the other half comes from public funds. BEG's mission is to use these public resources as efficiently as possible to provide passengers with the best possible service. Competitive procurement procedures are BEG's central instrument.
