ASAMKIRCHE MARIA OF VICTORIA
A jewel of baroque architecture in Southern Germany, thanks to two brothers who are experts in this art: the Asam brothers.
It is one of the city's jewels. It was commissioned by the Jesuits of the University of Ingolstadt in the early 18th century. Its baroque ornamentation and fascinating architecture are the work of a family duo, the brothers Egid Quirin and Cosmas Damian Asam, who are so famous in Bavaria that they gave their name to the building. The trompe l'oeil on the ceiling was created by Cosmas Damian in 1735 and depicts the incarnation of Christ.
