LIEBFRAUENMÜNSTER
Gothic cathedral featuring a vault built in 1503 and a high altar dating from the second half of the century.
The construction of the gothic cathedral in Ingolstadt began in 1425 on the initiative of Duke Ludwig the Bearded. It took a century to complete! The vault was added to the building in 1503. For the record, it inherited its name: "To our Good and Beautiful Lady", from an image of Paris, representing the Holy Virgin and which belonged to the Duke. Its superb high altar dates from the second half of the 17th century and Hans Mielich signed the ornaments. There is a beautiful view of the city from the south tower.
