The Bavarian Army Museum is the oldest and most important museum of military history in Germany. It was founded during the reign of Ludwig II in 1879 and was located in Munich. The former castle fortifications, built between 1828 and 1841, were converted into a museum with a focus on the First World War. The focus of the museum is the First World War, and it provides a military history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
