STADTMUSEUM INGOLSTADT
Museum evoking the history of Ingolstadt from prehistory to protohistory, with a display of the Swedish king's horse.
The Ingolstadt City Museum tells the story of the city's history and has a section devoted to prehistory and protohistory. The centrepiece of the museum is the horse of the Swedish King Gustav Adolf, which was narrowly missed by a bullet during the Thirty Years' War. The museum also houses the section of the Spielzeugmuseum (Toy Museum), which mainly exhibits very rare items from the last three centuries. Finally, the European Danube Museum traces the evolution of the river since the Stone Age.
