A basilica remodeled in the rococo style in the eighteenth century, also called "old chapel"
The former Basilica of Our Lady, dating from the Ottonian dynasty, was transformed in the 18th century according to the Bavarian Rococo style. The Wessobrunn School of no less than 600 stucco artists left their mark on this church through ceiling paintings and numerous stuccos. The frescoes on the ceiling depict the life of Emperor Henry II and his wife Empress Cunegund. Do not miss the small chapel (Gnadenkapelle) on the side.
