ARBERSCHUTZHAUS
A chalet near the top of the Bavarian Forest, where you can sleep as well as eat for a small fee.
Completely renovated in August 2009, the Arberschutzhaus - perched at an altitude of 1,358 m not far from the summit of Großer Arber - offers a panoramic view of the Bavarian Forest and surrounding lakes. It's a chalet where the good atmosphere and low prices will entice you to eat in, or even to take a rest (the place doubles as a hotel, with around forty beds for quite reasonable sums). Lovers of Knödel, cabbage and bacon will be delighted by the dishes on offer, typical of Bavarian cuisine.
