Every four years, the people of Landshut re-enact the sumptuous wedding of Duke George the Rich and Edwige of Poland (daughter of the Polish king of the Jagiellonian dynasty), celebrated on St. Martin's Day in 1475. The festivities include tournaments, medieval stands and above all the traditional procession through the old town of Landshut. A large reproduction in historical costumes in which some 2,000 people participate. This popular event is quite recent since it has only existed since 1903!
