The youth hostel is located on the edge of the town and offers a splendid view of the surrounding countryside.
The youth hostel is located in the fortress of Passau. It's a picturesque location with a historic building on a hill: be prepared to climb a little! The youth hostel is part of the DJH network (Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk), the largest network of youth hostels in Germany. You have to become a member to stay there. The annual membership costs between 7 and 25 € depending on age. Very good services.

A rather good youth hostel with decent breakfast and a nice view. Unfortunately, the wifi is pretty bad. Be aware that you‘ll need to climb quite some stairs to get up there!

Nun ja wenn ihr mit der Klasse dort hinfährt dan nehm UNBEDINGT viel Wasser mit und Essen... Von wasser hab ich immer noch fett ausschlag auf meinen Armen musste fast kotzen. Ansonsten personal voll lieb. Toilette war stinkig und dreckig.

Wer einmal in einer Burg übernachten möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Der Aufstieg zur Burg hat es jedoch in sich (von der Altstadt aus) - aber es lohnt sich. Der Ausblick von der Jugendherberge auf die Altstadt von Passau ist einfach toll. Ein Restaurant ist auch direkt vorhanden. Für weitere muss man jedoch runter in die Altstdat.
Der Service ist gut und die Betten sind in Ordnung, das Bad und WC (wir hatten ein 4-Bett-Zimmer) waren sauber. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier einkehren.
