ALTES RATHAUS PASSAU
Beautiful town hall with gothic and neo-gothic elements. Visitors will discover two historical rooms inside.
This colourful building was built in 1399. It is the former town hall of Passau. The frescoes around the beautiful gothic windows were redone in 1922 and depict Emperor Ludwig IV (a Bavarian!) and four flag bearers. The magnificent tower was only erected in 1892. It houses the town's carillon, which rings quite often during the day. Another curiosity: outside, on the wall, scales indicate the level of the water during the great floods that inundated the city of Passau.
